Meet our Team

We provide landscape and land‑management services specializing in Hawaiʻi’s climates. Our work mission revolves around restoring Hawaiʻi’s Native plants and removing invasive species to save Hawaiʻi’s ecosystems and protect the land. Native ecosystems are responsible for mitigating and surviving natural disasters, fires, and extreme weather that affects our island.

Every project is assessed by our expert in Native Hawaiian ecology, agriculture, horticulture, and conservation biology. Read more about our founder Emil Lynch.

The company’s mission is to uphold mālama ʻāina through natural methods and reliable service. We bring professional standards to every property, from residential lots to large acreage.

Emil Lynch

Founder

Born and raised in Hāna, Maui on a ten‑acre organic, biodynamic permaculture farm, Emil grew up raising livestock & local produce. At 16, Emil began working in remote backcountry conservation, helping protect native forests through fencing projects and feral animal control. This began his passion for restoring Hawaiʻi’s native ecosystems.

He attended the University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo, earning a double major in Conservation Biology and Evolutionary Ecology, along with a BS in Horticulture and Landscaping from the College of Agriculture in 2008. Emil continued conservation work throughout his studies and afterward, later becoming a certified paramedic and serving the County of Maui for ten years while remaining active in ecological restoration.

In 2013, Emil expanded his work with the land through beekeeping. He now manages more than 100 hives in South Maui and operates Maui’s Best Honey, integrating pollinator health into his broader restoration efforts. He continues to volunteer with conservation nonprofits, including Maui’s Nature Conservancy.

With extensive knowledge in native Hawaiian plants, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable land management, Emil specializes in large property restoration projects. He is also known for his expertise in proper citrus pruning for aeration to maximize production and mitigate damages.

Cyrus Hurd

Cyrus Hurd was born and raised in Kipahulu Valley, home to the most intact native Hawaiian ecosystem in the islands. Growing up here his childhood was spent climbing trees, caring for livestock, and free‑diving. He has a natural confidence and familiarity with Maui’s landscapes and would rather be up in a tree than on the ground.

Life outdoors gave Cyrus an exceptional instinct for tree work. His ability to rig, climb, and safely remove trees comes from years of real hands‑on experience. He has an eye for technical work and great knowledge of native trees and terrain.

In addition to his field skills, Cyrus is a gifted mechanic. He works with Pure Life Tree Trimming as a heavy‑equipment mechanic and fabricator, handling welding, custom metal work, and repairs for large‑scale operating equipment.
